April 30, 2010 was one of the busiest days of the month for me. I’m not going to go into details, but the best thing was that it ended with one of my favorite groups, the Cebu Bloggers Society, and to top it all off, it ended on a pizza trip. In this age and time, it’s a surprise that there are still people who don’t know anything about computers. Last weekend, the Cebu Bloggers Society Inc. and Tsinelas Foundation came together for a worthy cause: a Computer Literacy Program. The Tsinelas Foundation had 25 scholars under their wing and the CBSI was nothing but glad to be part of this good thing.

Call time was at 6AM at the Citilink Terminal. We were supposed to get ourselves settled in at the school by 9:30AM. In preparation for the weekend, I was busy setting up an automatic program to keep my Karma up on Plurk (integrated with Twitter and Facebook, of course!) to make it appear like I was never gone from cyberspace. :lol:

On April 24-25, the Cebu Bloggers Society Inc. in cooperation with the Tsinelas Foundation will hold the first Computer Literacy Program to held at Lut-od High School, Lut-od, Pinamungajan, Cebu. The purpose of this program is to enrich the knowledge of the 25 students to prepare them for life beyond high school with at least some Information Technology.

Since the Cebu Bloggers are not natives of Pinamungajan, the Hidden Valley Resort will serve as its host for the mentioned dates. It is currently being managed by the Lamac Multi-Purpose Cooperative (LMPC). Hidden Valley is a mountain resort which is approximately two hours worth of travel from the Cebu Capital, which is about eight kilometers away from Lutopan in Toledo City and 14 kilometers away from Poblacion, Pinamungajan.

That may sound like I’m about to get myself tortured from traveling, considering the fact that it’s been a while since I’ve been on such a land trip, but take a look at what awaits you when you get there. Read the rest of this entry »
