Bloody Monday

Photo by LINUS G. ESCANDOR II

No, I’m not talking about the anime or the JDorama. I’m talking about the latest news happening that has got everyone glued to their televisions. I’m dubbing this Monday a Bloody Monday.

Today, August 23, 2010, a Monday, Dismissed Sr. Insp. Rolando Mendoza took a majority of Hong Kong nationals and three Filipinos on vacation hostage inside a tourist bus at Quirino Grandstand in Manila.

While watching the news, I could already tell that it wasn’t going to end well. Whenever one of his demands were met, he would let three hostages go. According to the news channel that we watched, the hostage taker was a respectable person when he was still in service. When I found out about his awards in service, the first thing that came to mind was his retirement pay. He only had two years left before he can apply for voluntary retirement. Once he retires, it would’ve been a happy long life ahead.

But I couldn’t help but wonder.

Could the retirement pay have anything to do with the chain of events that led to his dismissal? Thus making him take justice into his own hands?

EIKNUJOMORP Update

It’s been 11 days since the contest has started. I have all but lost hope that my entry was going to be approved. I’ve been checking every single day to see if the contest admins have finally decided to let me join. But every time I enter my post URL to check, it would always come back to be as Pending Approval. But today, as I checked my email, I had a pending comment from a fellow contestant asking if I could link his post URL. There were no conditions stated other than this contestant asking to be linked from my blog.

But…. This is a contest, so I’d have to decline on that through this blog post, rather than approve his comment with his URL there for all to see. :sob: There can be no other EIKNUJOMORP link on this site other than mine. :D

I actually waited 10 whole days before deciding to see if my entry was accepted and yes, it has been accepted and I’m actually Anyways, I checked on the latest results and lo and behold, there are two new domains just recently bought and registered with EIKNUJOMORP written all over them, so it’s going to be tough trying to catch up to them.

Well, that’s competition. :)
