Havaianas, the first flip flops brand to offer pair customization in the country, holds its 5th annual Make Your Own Havaianas event at SM City Cebu Northwing Atrium from July 30 to August 2, 2010. Exercising the Right to Vote

May 10, 2010—Today is currently the most awaited in Philippine Election history. This was supposed to be my first time voting away from home. While working for my current job, I was asked to provide a barangay clearance as proof of my address and to verify that I have no barangay squabbles or stuff like that.

In case you’re wondering what barangays are, it’s kind of the Filipino equivalent of an American county. The barangay hall REQUIRED me to register for the upcoming elections so I can secure a clearance.

It took me an hour to register, I was given a precinct number and the receipt to prove that I’m a registered voter.
