Mosbeau in Cebu

 Mosbeau Cebu with the bloggers
14 days. That’s Mosbeau‘s promise to whiter skin.

A few months ago, while walking among the common peeps in one of my, unconsciously, favorite beauty stores, I saw this product. Of course I wondered what it was about since Angel Locsin is the current endorser of the product.

At first, I thought it was pronounced as Mos-Bo. So I read through the leaflet and when I read that it was a Japanese product, I was like, okay, it’s short for most beautiful, so it’s Mosbeau. :D

I have had my share of whitening products, lotions, toners, and everything else. i’m not looking to be super white, I just have skin blemishes/scars which I believe that if those parts were white enough, they’d be barely visible.

Underarm skin is also very sensitive. If you use the wrong deodorant or anti-perspirant, those can stain your underarms resulting in dark underarms. I don’t have dark underarms, but it won’t hurt to have whiter underarms.

When I met the Mosbeau Cebu team at the Mesa Filipino Moderne restaurant at The Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu, Mr. Clark Genil informed me about one of the key ingredients of the product. And unfortunately, I cannot use the product because of that particular ingredient. It’s pig placenta, in case you’re wondering.

I don’t eat pork, don’t touch pigs, or can’t have anything to do with pigs.

But I do have a cute stuffed toy pig. :D

People really shouldn’t wonder why pig placenta is used with this product. Scientifically, it has been proven that a pig’s heart just the most similar to a human heart, correct me if I’m wrong though. Apparently, a lot about pigs are similar with humans.

I guess that must be the reason why I never bought the product when I first saw it in that store. I could’ve read it in the leaflet.  As I reread through the same leaflet I read a few months ago, I rediscovered some of the more enticing ingredients that almost made me wanna use it, regardless what my religion says.

It’s got Collagen, so those who want to have firmer and younger skin, this is good for you. It’s got Glutathione, most people think it’s only for whitening, but it’s an anti-oxidant that helps remove toxins from your body and also contributes to having good liver function.

It’s also got Vitamin C, which helps in skin whitening by controlling your melanin levels and also increases the Collagen level of the skin to reduce skin aging. And what do you know, it’s got Asparagus Extract that’s rich in fibers, and flushes out harmful toxins from the body.

That last thing is really good for constipated people. :D

And here are the actual products…

You can get the Mosbeau Placenta White tablets in two packages, it’s either the 60 tablets bottle for PhP1,340, which is good for 15 days, or the 120 tablets bottle for PhP2,500, which is good for 30 days. That’s right. Four tablets per day. The tablets are infused with Placental Protein, and since the super main ingredient is pig placenta, I can’t take it. :sob:

Next is the Mosbeau White Underarm Cream which you can apply to underarms(obviously), elbows, knees, inner thighs, areolas(oooh!), anad other dark spots. It’s just the cream form of Placental Protein infused with Bellis Perennis (Daisy) extract. You can get it for PhP950.

Although I may not be able to try the kit out, I actually gave it to BF’s mom so she can try it out herself. She started using the products on the 22nd, so we should be able to see some results by June 6th, since the kit is good for 15 days. :D

are u promoting the product just becuz u got some free stuff or u really believe in it?

    • Wilhelmina says:

Short answer is no. Actually, I wasn’t promoting the product on this particular post. I was merely documenting the said ingredients that compose the product and their respective benefits. I even stated that I will not be able to use the product due to its main ingredient. Here’s a post after the product has been used up: http://www.misswilhelmina.com/2010/06/01/mosbeau-11-days-later/

As a blogger, we get invited to certain events and it is our discretion to write about the event, which becomes the content of our site. And FYI, I’m not getting anything from Mosbeau at all. Mosbeau provided us the kits for free so that we may try it out and write about it, but Mosbeau did not tell us to just write good things about it. We won’t have any credibility if we were just paid to write biased opinions. If any of us developed allergies, we’d be able to contact them and let them know that we didn’t like the product.

it has pig? sayang naman! i was about to get one myself.

    • Wilhelmina says:

sadly, yes, but Mosbeau said that they’re going to release a whitening product that has salmon fish oil instead for those who can’t get the one with pig placenta.
