Christmas with CBS
I’ve been with CBS for quite a while now. Although I haven’t been able to update my blog with anything that has sense in a while, I do have valid reasons as to why I couldn’t do it. The longer I kept my blog idle, I felt myself slipping away from the group as well.
But one night can change a lot.
Last night, the Cebu Bloggers Society held their Christmas party. It wasn’t the very first party CBS has had, unfortunately, I wasn’t able to go to the first one. T_T
The group started off with dinner at Joven’s Grill. Unfortunately, I had my brother coming over so I couldn’t go to dinner with the CBS. But! I still made it to Joven’s before we went to Cafe Shang, where the party is supposed to be held.
I brought along my Christmas bundle, wrapped in recycled newspaper dated, December 13, 2009.
The rule for bringing along a gift was it should cost at least 200 pesos, minus the gift wrapper and should be good for both sexes. Truth is, I totally forgot about getting a gift.
The day before the party, my teammates and I decided to go to the Patria for some foot reflexology. It was super funny how we were smilling at one time then everybody was just cringing in pain after.
We headed out to Sto. Nino to light up some candles and went for some shopping. The moment I saw that bed cover set, I suddenly remembered that I should get it as a gift since it costs more than 200 pesos and is a very useful item.
At home, since I (again) forgot to buy some gift wrapper, I just decided to wrap it in some newspaper, since the recipient will end up ripping the wrapper apart anyway. And I was really hoping that the person who receives it is someone who loves the environment and doesn’t really care what the wrapper is about, hence the newspaper wrap. I wanted to do some paper art on it before taking it to the party to make it more presentable, but I just didn’t find the time to do it.
At Cafe Shang, everybody was enjoying themselves. There was dancing, a lot of singing, picture-taking and of course, some drinking. Everybody was enjoying themselves so much that the glass that everybody was passing around slipped and shattered into pieces.
The iLearners also came, since we have members in common. They were in a different room, so the common members would just hop from one room to another. It was a really fun night. I missed hanging around them and one night just felt like it was enough to wipe the isolation away.
Since I don’t drink beer, alcohol or any form of liquor, I bought myself some blended coffee. Well, I thought it was coffee since they called it Java Blendz Chocolate Vanilla. Turns out it was more of a vanilla milkshake with some chocolate syrup and whipped cream at the top. But it was quit good. I wouldn’t mind having another one when I visit Cafe Shang again.
I wished I didn’t have to work in the morning though, it would have been an even better night.
Thanks to that night, I have a blog entry.
