First Day at Zamboanga

Finally, after more than a year, I have made back home. The flight took longer than I expected and I was definitely not expecting the plane that I boarded to be so, well, small.

The flight date was on June 24, 2009, a Wednesday, at 5AM. So I left my Cebu home at approximately 3:40AM for the airport. The taxi driver wanted me to add an extra 30 pesos, but since I was at a VERY tight budget, and he was not supposed to ask for it, I of course just offered to get out and get another cab. So instead of losing me, he just agreed not to let me add that extra 30.

At the airport, I managed to grab a chicken mami and some coffee for breakfast. After eating breakfast, I went down to the waiting lounge and found 2 computers with internet connection. Apparently, Smartbro’s promoting their router through the airport and about 5 minutes before boarding time, I saw a panini stand. I just couldn’t resist it, I had to get one. It cost me another 30 bucks, but at least I had a full stomach.

The passengers got transported to the airplane with two shuttle buses, with me as one of the standing passengers. I didn’t mind, I was one of the first ones to get out. My seat number was 16D, but when I got on the plane, I have no idea why I sat at 14D. I only realized that I was in the wrong seat, because the flight attendant called my attention. No wonder that guy was just staring at me.

The flight was only supposed to take an hour, but it took us almost two hours on the plane, so I just spent the time taking a nap. I wanted to take pictures while on the plane, but I placed my camera in my purse, which I put on the overhead storage. I could’ve gotten up and taken the cam, but the guy I was sitting right next to, was snoring so loudly, I just didn’t want to bother him.

At Zamboanga’s airport, I got the chance to take some pictures, but none of them will be posted until I get back to Cebu. I spent the morning having breakfast with my mom and dad, with little Heezam, watched some infomercials, and had lunch with my dad. During the afternoon, my dad took me to my aunt’s at Western Mindanao State University to visit while he drove the jeepney, and here I am, posting this entry at a stinky corner in an internet cafe with howling students, who are playing some sort of MMORPG. And

First day: so far so good. :D

Go go go Bryan, it’s a really quiet place, really nice for studying since you won’t have that much to do there.
