Seems like the Cebu bloggers are finally picking up their feet and have finally agreed that it’s about time that blogging should be taken more seriously. This meet up had already been planned for about a month, but nobody really stepped up and finalized the plans. The scheduled date was on July 27th, a Sunday, at 2PM. The only problem is the bloggers weren’t really too sure about the location.

Geek Jam LAN Party in Cebu

This is one party that I would really really love to go to. Seriously. I’m a nerd and I’m not ashamed to admit it. Haha. So, what is a LAN party? Well, according to this little pamphlet that I got from the press conference with Gov, Gwen Garcia,

A LAN party is a gathering of PC Gaming and Network enthusiasts for the purpose of playing multiplayer PC and/or online games. It is also a meeting of PC, gadget and game console enthusiasts who are looking to play games, share files and computer and gadget know-how, as well as to show and display their “rigs”, which is the normal term for PCs that are modified and customized to the owner’s taste and specifications, much like in a car show, only with PCs, laptops and game consoles.

Now that we’ve established what a LAN party is all about, what is the purpose of having this party then?

I’m certainly leaning towards posting about Cebu now. And I really don’t mind. This post is pretty late too. I have decided not to enter the contests that I’m about to start posting on my blog, because well, I’m just way too busy with my personal life that I barely have anytime to update my blog. Full time blogging is fun, but right now I just need to focus on my real job. Anyway, this contest aims to promote Cebu in a way to highlight any tourist spots that you can find around Cebu, the cultural heritage and also the potential of the cities and towns of Cebu in the business field.

The contest is open to all individuals, students, professionals and bloggers. In short, just about anybody who has access to a computer.

Read up on the mechanics now.

Alright! This is something that we Cebuano bloggers should really be enthusiastic about. Not only will we be promoting Cebu, we will also have a shot at winning some excellent prizes. The contest will run from July 16th, that’s today people! So I really apologize for not getting this up on my blog right away. This is actually the only time I can update my blog. Trust me, after the hectic day that I went through yesterday, and the hectic shift that I went through also, it’s a miracle I’m still up and not snoring on my cot right now. Yes, I said cot. Saying bed is so, umm, I don’t know. :P

Anyway, read up on the mechanics:

After the successful meet-up with the Davao bloggers and fellow Cebu bloggers, here comes another meet-up in the making, but this time it won’t only be with just the Cebu and Davao bloggers, it will be with the Governor herself, Gov. Gwen Garcia. This press conference will also be in relation to the bloggers’ summit to be held in August, but information for that will be disclosed as soon as everything is ironed out already.

The Week After…

It’s been more than a week since my 24th. Sad to say though, I still don’t feel what most people would call ballin’. I guess I’m just the boring type of person. But I can say that I did have a good time on my 24th. It was the first time since my time away from home that my mom and dad has actually forgotten to send me a text message wishing me a happy birthday. I understand though, and I don’t really mind. Really. I knew where they were when it was my birthday and I couldn’t really make them wish me a happy birthday when they were having a hard time back at home.

So what happened on my 24th?

Vacuums Gone Cordless

At first I just saw cordless vacuum cleaners on infomercials. These infomercials can really catch your eye. They make you wanna watch it until its done and sometimes makes you pick up the phone and order it right away. But that was about 10 years ago, back when I was too young to even look for a job or at least back when my dad would let me go look for a job. :P

But now that I live away from home, I had to pick up after myself, make sure that everything’s spic and span, and that my room looks like a lady’s room and not a guy’s room. Well, if I stereotyped, that means a guy’s room is most of the time hideously messy. Come on guys, admit it. You hate cleaning, that’s why some guys have girlfriends to clean their rooms for them.

But since Dirt Devil started marketing off their cordless vacuums, I’ve been pretty much tempted to get on the phone and call for one. I mean, being where I am right now, saving on energy is a big thing and Dirt Devils’ vacuums have the Energy Star logo on them. But there’s one major setback. I’m in the Philippines and I don’t see any options of shipping to my address here. So I guess I might as well spread the word. Who knows, someone in the US might be kind enough to get me one and send me one here. :D
