Hot Coffee, Hot Cocoa

Robert: It’s not hot choco, it’s hot cocoa.

Me: What’s wrong with calling hot choco hot choco?

Robert: Honey, it’s not hot choco, it’s hot co-coa.

Me: Yeah, but I like saying hot choco than hot cocoa.

Robert: But it’s not right.

Me: It’s not wrong, either.

Robert: Grrrr…. You’re frustrating.

Me: Thank you. :D

Flu Vaccination

Yesterday, one of my co-trainees asked me if I was willing to have a flu shot. I knew it was going to be good for me, but I’ve never been given a flu shot before. I’m not scared of needles, and it was pretty cheap. I didn’t have any money with me, but the company’s just going to deduct 450 pesos (USD10.46) from my monthly salary.

The doctor looked pretty young for a doctor. He was everything how you would stereotype a doctor. He wore glasses, he was super clean, his clothes were crisp, his hair trimmed quite nicely, and he smelled nice. :D And oh, he was tall too. He looked like a cross between local actors Drew Arellano and Mon Confiado. When he called me by my name, he made it so that he pronounced it right, since not a lot of Filipinos can say my name right. He also pronounced it like he was trying to make fun of the situation. He then asked me if it was my first time to get a flu shot. Naturally, I said yes. The he told me that I will be experiencing some nausea, numbing and some pain.

I was like, :O

Goodbye Amanda

Just last weekend, on June 15th, Miss Amanda Jones passed away. She wasn’t someone that I knew personally, but I was one of those that she has affected greatly with her courage. She suffered from Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML). We met through the The Richness fan site, and have talked for several times in chat. She was a very nice person who wished the best for everybody. Her cancer has given her some time without it but eventually came back. When it did, she told us about it and that was when our support for her fight went full blast.

I don’t know if she felt any pain in her passing, but I really hope that she was taken without any pain. I’m happy that she wouldn’t have to endure any physical pain anymore, that her family wouldn’t be able to see her go through the pain anymore, but I offer my condolences to her family, because I knew that she was loved and admired by so many. To her mother, Tammy, I’m greatly saddened by Amanda’s passing and I do wish that I could have been there to see her off. But even this post entry has been late itself.

Hope + Believe = ACHIEVE

We hoped as much as we could, we believed and we may not have achieved the result that we wanted, but Amanda fought a great fight and for that, the phrase will never lose its meaning. Thank you Amanda, for being in our lives even if it was online.

Thank you Amanda.

Weight Management

Not that I have any problems with my weight, but this past few weeks since I’ve started working, I noticed that I’ve been gaining some fat around my waist. I’m not like those girls that completely stop eating after seeing that they have been gaining weight, but since my pants feel tighter now and I have no plans of replacing them anytime soon, I have decided to do some weight management.

I can’t do any jogging, but I can walk briskly all the time. The only thing that keeps me from doing so is if I’m with my girl team mates. Believe me they walk slowwwww, unless we’re running after the elevator. I would love to take the stairs at the office, but I can’t. We don’t have regular stairs at the office, just elevators. We have stairs, but those are for the fire exits only.

Best. Night. Ever.

Best Team Ever

Last Saturday, I went out with my team mates from work for some fun. We went out for a night of music and food and well, there was some drinking, but not for me. Me not drinking didn’t ruin the night. They seemed pretty entertained when I banged my head with the music, though. Haha. We went out to a place where we could sing for as loud as we want and eat as much as we could as long as the bill wouldn’t exceed PhP1,500. If it did, we could just pay for the extras.

Wow, beer drinking can be seen anywhere here in the Philippines. It’s like drinking is a way of living now, but I just don’t drink. I was glad though that even if I didn’t drink, my team mates didn’t force me to have any at all. It was all good though, more beer for them. Haha. The best part of them drinking was that the room didn’t even stink of beer.

It was just too bad though that not everyone could make it, but we were thinking of them all the time anyway. I can’t wait to see them again tomorrow. :)
