Cebu Bloggers Meet Davao Bloggers
I expected people to be there, but didn’t expect that there’d be that many people there. Umm, okay, so fifteen people isn’t really a lot, but it’s actually a pretty good crowd already, considering this is the first time most of us will be meeting. It’s just sad though that I couldn’t introduce myself because of my name. I mean, it’s pretty obvious that Wilhelmina isn’t such an easy name to say. It was just unfortunate that I wasn’t able to get everyone’s names. I asked everybody to just drop by this site and leave comments via the comment box, because it’d be easier for me to remember them if I’ve been to their sites.
Anyway, when I got there, Aldrin/Weblizzer from Web Tutorials was waiting outside the coffee shop. While I was walking towards the coffee shop, he had his cellphone in his hand, obviously waiting for a text message. From who? Me, of course. I was the only contact he had there.
I actually didn’t know it was him, but I knew he was one of those who was going to be there. But like a few minutes later, it was evident that he was indeed Weblizzer. We looked around to see if the others were already there, but nope. No sign of them yet. A little after 2PM, a group of guys came into the shop and settled themselves at the back of the shop. How did we know that it was them? One of them wore a black shirt saying “PINOY BLOGGER” in big, white letters. And guess what, it was Winston of Batang Yagit. There were five of them coming and I recognized another one of them from his picture on his political blog. It was Kevin Ray Chua of the Mar Roxas for 2010 blog. I was the only girl in the group, so I didn’t know if I we should join right away. There was a very distinguished looking man among them and one looked like a reporter and he looked even more like a reporter when he took out his camera and started shooting.
Sucks not having a digicam.
Anyway, I just learned that all three of them were from Ng Khai—or worked with it, at least. And let me tell you, they are serious bloggers, yo. I’m like :?. Mr. Wilson Ng discussed a proposal which in my opinion was actually really good, and it was because of that proposal that gave me the impression that he is a businessman.
A little while later, Blogie of Ang Dabawenyo finally arrived, wearing that darn blue WordPress hoodie I’ve set my eye on for so long. *Sigh* I wanted one so bad and well thing is, I’m not about to pay that much money for a hoodie. So I guess no WP hoodie for me then.
I had about stopped checking the time when Francis the Sushi Chef came in with his daughter. He got his daughter some cake and left after about an hour since his daughter had been wanting to get out. And he said he had places to go with his baby.
I told him his daughter looked just like him. Rodel of Lagahit came in with his gf (?) and sat with Francis. It has been a while since we saw each other and guess what he asked me when we did?
“How much are you earning now?”
I answered,”Not as much as you are earning now.”
More minutes later, a fresh Paul Villacorta from the Cowboy blogger came in with Aileen aka Little Light from Sunchoke. Paul handed out pretty calling cards to everybody.
Winston did the same thing. i checked out both cards and well, well, turns out Paul’s a Winston too. And Winston’s first name isn’t exactly Winston. It’s his second name just like Paul.
This made me smile. I haven’t actually met that many people who have names that start with a ‘W’. And I met two Winstons in a day.
And Max, thank you for appreciating my new theme. Check out his shots on his blog, his latest entry also confirms that he does work for a paper. That and when he told us he did work for the local paper. Before I forget, Xerendipity of Obnoxious Queer was there too. And omigod, I really should’ve asked for the other blogger’s URL and handle before leaving. *Slaps forehead* And oh yeah, I almost forgot one blogger in attendance. Rio Calle was there too. That about sums it up for who went there. We agreed to meet every now and then, but we still have to agree on certain dates.
We’re hoping that this meetup won’t be the first and last for the Cebuano and Davaoeno bloggers.

glad to meet you today. hope we’d be seeing a lot of each other in the coming days.

@Winston
so glad I went, and it was very nice meeting you too, I got the invite, but my Internet’s pretty sucky right now, takes me about 6 minutes just to load a single page, and I can’t even check on my mail
but I will check it out as soon as my speed recovers
It’s a great time to be with you all guys, hopefully we could work on it at least twice a month.. By the way. Happy bday pala
heheeh
Hello Wil! It was good to meet you in Cebu last Sunday.
I think I’ll be back in August, so I’ll make sure to attend another bloggers’ meet-up then!
looking forward to the next meetup
bloggers meeting in a coffee shop? there’s something a wee bit cliche and yet so utterly quaint about the whole thing.
why didn’t i get an invite?
~er. uhm. point taken. the nerve of me calling myself a blogger! a blogger blogs. period. one who blogs as an afterthought is not exactly worthy of the title. shame on me.
anyway, just dropped by to return the love.
great adaptation of yichi’s theme. the best i’ve seen so far.
@Yan
thanks for dropping by! you’ve done a great job widgetizing yichi’s Resurrection theme. I’m not exactly done with the tweaking of this theme yet, and I doubt I’ll be done with it soon. I just wish I had as much experience at this like you
