Love the kid. Never thought I’d actually get to hear a little ten-year-old boy sing Frank Sinatra.

Hash Browns

I have never had hash browns in my entire life before. I have only heard about them in the movies, TV shows and definitely not on Philippine television. I got up at five in the morning, which is so not like me. I have bad sleeping habits and that I really should just get some sleep whenever I need it, but I had to get up. Today was the day that I get this pre-employment medical examination done.

Time check: it was almost 7AM when I finished getting ready. Actually, it didn’t take me that long, I had some mail-checking and well, etc, etc, etc to do before I went and got ready for it. I got out of the door and walk to the nearest jeepney stop to the clinic. Since there wasn’t much traffic just yet, I didn’t have any problem getting there.

Yeah, no problem getting there at all. Ten minutes after standing in line for the registration, I realized that I still haven’t gotten my Medicard ok’ed yet. And I wasn’t about to start paying for all the tests. No way, man.

Time check: 7:14AM. The Medicard office opens at 8AM. So I walk around a little bit around Fuente, the big circle in the midtown Cebu, and since I was still pretty much hungry, I slipped into McDonald’s and ordered some pancakes, orange juice and one hash brown. The guy who took my order said, “How many are you having?” after I said just one. So I repeated what I said and they pretty much gave me just one. It was Php18.00.

Gawd, food is so expensive nowadays.

Ultimate Cheesiness

Holding HandsSo how many of you have boyfriends that actually feel like writing you something every time they get something going on in their heads? And what motivates them to actually even write? From where I come from, guys are just big jerks. They don’t like cheesy stuff especially if they are out with their girlfriends. Well, they are cheesy at first, later on, you don’t even get to see them anymore and that they would rather go out with their friends. And when they are with their friends, sometimes, a lot of times they ignore you. So girls, would you rather have a badass boyfriend that acts all macho but totally ignores you, or would you rather have the cheesy one that always has his attention on you? Would he hold your hand when you go out?

Me, I have a badass boyfriend who brags about me and likes to show me off to everybody and writes me stuff. He’s a big guy whom I call my girlfriend, because he’s uber sensitive and likes to write me cheesy little notes. Wouldn’t you like cheesy little notes too?

Below is one of the latest little notes he wrote for me. Yeah, prepare for the cheesiness.

Google Stickers

I’ve known for a little while now that Google is giving away free stickers for their Adsense publishers. Well, reason why I would like to have one is just because I just want it, and well my laptop’s not really of a popular brand and I couldn’t care less. At least I still have a laptop, right? It’s a good machine and its haters can just keep on wishing they had one.

Anyway, since its brand is easily seen like most laptops, I’d really like to have the Google sticker cover the brand name. Not that I’m embarrassed about it, but because I’m tired of answering questions about the laptop and being told that I should’ve gotten this brand, or that brand.

So how do I acquire the stickers? Easy. I just have to send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Google’s California office. But that would mean paying for too much for just stickers and that is very, very impractical. So what do I do? I browse through my friends on MySpace and finds one of those friends who I actually used to have fun with in the MySpace Group “Brunettes Kick Ass” or BKA, as we call it. I love that group to death, but I haven’t been in there in a while, not since hackers got to the group and everyone had trouble looking for the threads, and poor Kristina, the creator/moderator of the group had to sticky every topic just to get it back up.

Smile

I will smile. I’m gonna smile because I deserve to. No matter what hardship I’m gonna go through, whatever hurts is just going to go away eventually. I’m a tough cookie. No one really knows. I can keep everything under wraps and just smile. I can be in a turmoil and still fool everyone into thinking that I’m just going about my usual routine. I guess you can call me an actress then, huh?

I guess that’s what I am, one big drama queen. Drama. Drama. Drama. Ew.

You know what I love about getting hurt though? Time always finds a way to get it to go away. It’s amazing. I love time. Contrary to what a lot of people believe, I’m no queen, I’m not super smart, and I’m no where near impressive. I don’t have superior intellect, therefore I’m also vulnerable to being tricked and can be called foolish.

Sorry readers, I’m in a very depressed mood right now. Anyway, I’ll be better in time, just like what this song says. Click to play.

ONE

The ONE Campaign. It’s all about increasing the global awareness about global poverty, disease, hunger. This campaign is basically about Americans coming together as ONE to fight off the said issues, not just in the United States, but also in other developing countries.

I personally signed up for the ONE campaign even though I don’t really know how I can help. But still, one signature can make a lot of difference. It’s a non-profit organization, and is actually very helpful in expanding awareness of the current issues involving the most impoverished countries. I may not be American, but I know I can help in even the littlest way possible. I’m not financially equipped enough to start donations, but my actions can start a revolution if I wanted to. It’s amazing what one person can do. Just imagine what so many people acting as ONE can.

If you are fairly contented with what you have right now, there’s no harm in being thankful for all your blessings and even sharing them. So why not share them with those who need them the most?

From ONE.org,

The ONE Campaign seeks to raise public awareness about the issues of global poverty, hunger, disease and efforts to fight such problems in developing countries. In furtherance of these purposes, the ONE Campaign will:

  • Mobilize people from all 50 states and America’s leading non-profit, advocacy and humanitarian organizations to expand awareness of these issues
  • Publish educational information about the impact of overseas development assistance and reformation of unfair international trade regimes on global poverty, hunger and disease
  • Raise awareness about and promote the framework of the Millennium Development Goals to eradicate poverty and improve public health and education

The ONE Campaign is organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.

Go on over to the site and submit your signature. There’s nothing to lose anyway.

Happy Birthday!

Image from www.pinkcakebox.comToday is another one of the most important people in my life’s birthday. It’s my baby sister’s 18th birthday today. Still can’t believe how time flies so fast. I still remember the day my mom got up from her sleep and started cringing in pain. I used to be such a heavy sleeper in my younger years, but never had really good sleep when I hit my elementary years.

It was 4 something in the morning and my dad turned on the lights in the room. When we were younger, we’d all sleep together in the same room and we put together two big beds in the same room and just liked it that way. We’d play before going to bed, because apparently that’s the only way to get us to go to bed–tire us out.

My little brother and I would play wrestling matches on the bed, but we’d never get past the poses. He’d play Randy “Macho Man” Savage. And I would be Hulk Hogan. Haha, yeah, those were the times. My stinky little brother just turned three and he was as mischievous as they can get. I was still 5 turning 6.
