First Day at Zamboanga

by Wilhelmina on Jun.24, 2009, under Personal

Finally, after more than a year, I have made back home. The flight took longer than I expected and I was definitely not expecting the plane that I boarded to be so, well, small.

The flight date was on June 24, 2009, a Wednesday, at 5AM. So I left my Cebu home at approximately 3:40AM for the airport. The taxi driver wanted me to add an extra 30 pesos, but since I was at a VERY tight budget, and he was not supposed to ask for it, I of course just offered to get out and get another cab. So instead of losing me, he just agreed not to let me add that extra 30.

At the airport, I managed to grab a chicken mami and some coffee for breakfast. After eating breakfast, I went down to the waiting lounge and found 2 computers with internet connection. Apparently, Smartbro’s promoting their router through the airport and about 5 minutes before boarding time, (continue reading…)

Spoiled Little Brat

by Wilhelmina on Jun.18, 2009, under Personal

On April 1st, almost a month after losing Bubbles, the very first Labrador-mixed puppy that bf and I got died, we adopted another Labrador-mixed puppy. The reason why we actually adopted another one was because this new puppy pretty much looked like Bubbles. So we decided to give it another go.

Now the puppy was born during the last week of February, but bf’s mom named her April since she came home to us on the 1st. But bf would nickname her “Abrilata” (can opener in English). His mom would call her Abril, which is the Spanish translation to April, but Iwould call her April. With all the names confusing her, she would not respond to any of them. The only thing that she would respond to is bf’s whistle.

This is her a few days after we got her. (continue reading…)

Lunch Out with the CBS Folks

by Wilhelmina on Apr.25, 2009, under Blogging, Food

Max's Restaurant

It’s been quite a while since I went out on a rest day, most especially with the CBS peeps. The date was April the 25th, which is by the way, my little sister’s birthday, and the day when the power went out for more than two hours, approximately. I was supposed to finish some chores at home, but at around 10am, the lights went out and my laptop went blank on me, because I had it on power supply rather than battery. So my Naruto Shippuuden episode 106 viewing got interrupted. I waited for about 20 minutes and no signs of the power coming back on came. So I just decided to shower and then meet up with the CBS peeps at Max’ Restaurant at SM City. The time was supposed to be set at 11am, but we didn’t meet each other till about 11:30am.

Anyway, I’m really not sure what the occassion was, but we had a 15% discount on the meal, which was great, because of the company we had, I’m not gonna say that the food sucked, the food was okay, pretty ok, most especially the Sinigang na Hipon, which was really good in my opinion, I just didn’t get to see how much it costed though. The bloggers has Crispy Pata, which I skipped, because I don’t eat pork, Max’s Fried Chicken, Sinigang na Hipon, Halo-halo and Garlic Rice. For drinks, majority had Iced Tea, Empress had some Pepsi and I, well, since it was on the menu, I had to have the Green Mango Shake. :D

Birth Certificate Blues—Again

by Wilhelmina on Mar.09, 2009, under Personal

Birth Certificate in SECPAWhen I was about 6 years old, I was admitted into elementary school because I can reach my left ear using my right hand over my head. :P

Seriously though, the school agreed to let me in as long as I was turning 7 the same year. Thing is, I was only 5 years old turning 6. So my mother had a plan, since my birth certificate was old, and the school only required a xerox copy, she went ahead and had it photocopied, and when the copy wasn’t too clear, she would type the letters in and well, 1984 magically turned into 1983.

Krua Thai

by Wilhelmina on Mar.01, 2009, under Food

It was one of those bored-out-of-mind days again, and we were strolling around the mall, trying to find something useful to do. On days like this one, I would normally be in front of my computer, trying to find something to do, watching anime, or trying to put up at least one blog post.

But here I was, doing nothing but walking around in the mall, when we suddenly smelled something that caught our senses. It was the glorious smell of spices. It was then that we realized that we were standing right in front of a Thai restaurant.

I guess we were standing too close to the entrance, because I’ve never smelled the spices from this place before, and I have been passing the same restaurant for the nth time since I first came to Cebu.

Since I was starving, we decided to eat at the Thai restaurant. I don’t remember how much we spent, but I can definitely say that the spices are not easy to forget.

Anyway, here are some shots from the Krua Thai. (continue reading…)

Goodbye Chillaxin’

by Wilhelmina on Mar.01, 2009, under Personal

With the kind of job and schedule that I have currently, I don’t think I’ll be able to maintain two blogs anymore. Chillaxin’ is my very first blog and although I feel that I must do my best to keep it with me, but I also feel that that blog has been corrupted due to the links that have been sold on it.

There’s nothing wrong with being able to make any money while you enjoy blogging or writing, but I think I’ve just gotten too tired of trying to figure out how I can make money online when I’m already making enough with my regular job.

I will have to shut down Chillaxin, although I can just let it drift off in cyberspace, and use it for SEO experiments, I will no longer be updating it with any useful content, whatsoever.

So with this post, Chillaxin’ will be nothing more but a memory.
